“We Are Slowly Losing Our Identity,” MC Caro Reminds Fellow Musicians

Liberia’s rap scene was set ablaze when MC Caro, the nation’s sensational female rapper, delivered a powerful message urging artists to embrace their cultural identity and preserve their musical heritage.

In a thought-provoking social media post, Caro expressed concerns about the loss of authenticity and originality in Liberian music, emphasizing the need for self-recognition and acceptance before seeking global recognition.

King Caro, known for her captivating lyricism and fierce stage presence, is currently advocating for the cultural identity and authenticity of Liberian music on a bigger stage.

“In our quest for global and international recognition or acceptance, we must first recognize and accept ourselves our cultural identity, languages and way of life should resonate in our music,” Caro began her statement.

MC Caro asserts that upon listening to ten artists, one will inevitably arrive at the conclusion that our cultural identity is gradually eroding under the influence of foreign cultures.

“Listen to 10 new talents in Liberia today and u will understand where I’m coming from We are slowly loosing our identity,” says MC Caro.

She urged her fellow musicians not to see her words as hate but as a reminder that if care is not taken, we could lose our cultural heritage soon.

“This is not hate this is a reminder that we are loosing ourselves to nobody because nobody ask us to do what we doing to ourselves.”
